Our Story

9Rivers refers to the city of Tianjin, where our business was founded and where we grown up and fell in love with guitars, both as players and luthiers.

We're so lucky to be one of the earlist dedicated guitar repair workshops in China. In the past decade, our Tianjin and Beijing shops became the premium choice of top guitar and bass players. We have trained more than 200 guitar repair techs following the years, some of them are running our franchise shops across the country. The close relationship with players and luthiers is our most precious asset, they are not only our customers, but also our think tank, product testers and most importantly our friends.

9Rivers GuitarWorks was founded by guitar maker Hongbo Zhao in 2010, tube amp maker Jian Zhao was on board two years later. Before founding 9Rivers, they had been working in the musical instrument industry for years as designer and engineer. Besides running franchise repair workshops and luthier training, our business also include OEM/ODM order management for some of the giant brands of this industry and varies product design and refinement jobs for them.

Over the years, the guitar making, repairing, luthier training and other business brought us many ideas and designs, we turned some of them into products that we are so happy and proud to share with you here.

We love beautifully made luthier tools and EDC gears, they are not just something we used to earn a living or make things easier. For both players and luthiers, they are our art.
